“Hagen reminds us the beauty of how an honest solo performance can make you so easily fall in love with its performer. ”
— Montreal Rampage
On November 4, 2021, Sarah released a luxurious double-CD album of the Goldberg Variations. Cherished by many, the Goldberg Variations are emblematic of keyboard virtuosity, rich expression, and hardcore classical interpretation. She is touring the programme in 2022 and beyond.
Touring as both a solo pianist and as a comedienne, “Hagen reminds us how the beauty of an honest solo performance can make you so easily fall in love with its performer.” [Montreal Rampage]
“I was reminded of the breadth of his [Gould’s] opening Aria in Hagen’s first track [of Goldberg Variations]. She is able to sustain that sense of breadth throughout her version. The playing is consistent, with feeling and a sense of purpose throughout, including a touching Track 26. … this is a heartfelt performance worth adding to the collection.” - La Scena Musicale

Recitals in large & small halls
Sarah brings her unique blend of humour and excellence to the stage in personal and intimate recitals. Breaking down barriers with her engaging personality and hilarious sense of fun, she warmly invites listeners into the incredible and distinct world of classical music. Programme themes include music inspired by birds and birdsong, and a musical menagerie, music inspired by all sorts of animals. For more traditional concert societies, Sarah also offers a breathtaking and virtuosic programme with masterworks by Chopin, Haydn, and Rachmaninov.
In lecture recitals, audiences are treated to a feast for the ears, gain insight into the pianist’s perspective, and enjoy discussion over a cup of tea or a glass of wine. Sarah promotes a relatively informal ambiance, providing opportunity to ask questions, or share opinions.
Presenters and hosts may wish to book a single programme, a package of several lectures, or an entire weekend of these highly successful sessions.
