“It was fun hosting Frander at Mariposa in 2018. The band fit right into the relaxed, welcoming vibe of the festival and demonstrated an exquisite flare each time they performed their music. They made new fans at every set. I'd be happy recommending them as part of a weekend festival!” - Liz Scott, Artistic Director, Mariposa Festival

FRÄNDER formed in 2015 with one purpose in mind: to combine their modern influences with the sounds of tradition. They are energized by and find creative freedom within, the expressive modern sound of Nordic folk music and the traditional music of their ancestors. FRÄNDER is not interested in merely reproducing the past but strive to find new ways back into the future. The 5-pc band, tour extensively in Europe, North America, and Japan.  Some Canadian festival highlights include Mariposa and Vancouver Island Folk Festival.

“They convey their music with a tremendous joy of playing, a powerful energy and, of course, enviable instrumental skills. They captivate their audience. ” - Ando Kiviberg, Founder, Viljandi Folk Festival
